Here is the program details of the 8 days Desert Tour from Tangier to Marrakech:

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

Arrive in Tangier and pick up at the port, airport, or your riad/hotel and depart to Chefchaouen, stop in Tetouan to see the beautiful medina.

Then continue to the blue pearl of Morocco to stroll in the colorful streets among its old houses of blue and white, and contemplate unforgettable panoramic views. Accommodation with breakfast at the riad/hotel.

Day 2: Chefchauen - Volubilis - Fez

After breakfast, we leave the blue city and depart to Fez, crossing the forests of the Rif. The first stop will be in Volubilis; a Berber-Roman city located near Meknes, the origins of its name are the Latinisation of the Amazigh word Walili, which means oleander, which grows along the sides of this ancient city.

After visiting the ruins, we continue 15 Km and reach Meknes; a city that reached its peak in the seventeenth century thanks to Sultan Moulay Ismail, the visit includes: the Royal Palace and the famous Bab Mansour Gate, Lhdim Square, the Granaries of Moulay Ismail and the Prison of Kara, then continuation to Fez.

Day 3: Fez - Medina Sightseeing Tour

Full day dedicated to the discovery of the most historical city of the whole kingdom, several monuments can be visited: Palaces, the Jewish quarter, Madrasas (Koranic schools) as Chahrij, Bouinania, Attarin.

In addition to souks, Fes El-Jedid, and the University of Al Quaraouiyine, which is the oldest existing educational institution in the world.

Finally, conclude the day with a sunset panoramic view over Fes Medina near the Merenid Tombs offering stunning views of the city.

Day 4: Fez - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Desert

After breakfast, we head toward Merzouga Desert through the Middle Atlas Mountains to visit Ifran, a city known as the Switzerland of Morocco, the city of the lion, and one of the cleanest towns in the world. Moreover, visit Azrou “the rock”, an Amazigh (Berber) village known for its crafts, carpets, and wood carvings.

Here, we stop in the Cedar Forest to see the wild monkeys known as the Barbary apes. After lunch in the city of the apple, Midelt, we continue through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel’s Neck at 1,907 meters of altitude.

In the afternoon, we reach one of the best parts of Morocco, the Merzouga Desert to start an experience that everyone should do at least once in a lifetime, the camel ride to the deep of the Erg Chebbi dunes, once you have arrived at the heart of the Desert, a pause will be made to enjoy the quietness, peace of nowhere in addition to watching the sunset from one of the highest dunes.

After the sunset, you continue the camel ride toward the Desert camp located in the middle of the Desert, where you will be welcomed with mint tea and have your private tent as well as enjoy a delicious dinner, later, enjoy the Berber drums around the fire singing about life and nomadism under a starry, open sky creating best memories ever.

Day 5: Desert - Todra Gorges - Roses Valley - Ouarzazate

Waking up early in the morning is a great idea to contemplate the breathtaking sunrise in the middle of the desert. After breakfast, we head to Ouarzazate through the Tafilalt region, Rissani, Jorf, Ksar Touroug, and Tinejdad until we reach Todra Gorges which are a series of limestone river canyons that look almost prehistoric with walls that reach around 400 meters in height, considered an amazing spot for rock climbers and located in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains

After strolling in the canyons, we continue to visit Kelaat M’Gouna known as the Valley of the Roses, in this wonderful place a festival takes place every year usually the first week of May.

Finally, arrive in Ouarzazate; the origin of the name is derived from the Amazigh language and it means noiseless or without confusion, the city is known as the Hollywood of Africa. Accommodation with dinner and breakfast at the riad/hotel.

Day 6: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

On the 6th day of the journey, we will head to Marrakech via the Tiz-in-Tichka pass (2260m), the “road of the pastures”. Passing through the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben-Haddou; a historical monument that has been fortified since the 11th century and was made entirely out of rammed earth, adobe, clay bricks, plus wood, also declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO

Also in this fabulous village, several Hollywood movies were filmed such as Queen of The Desert, The Last Temptation of Christ, The Man Who Would Be King, and the British documentary film A Life On Our Planet.

Later, we continue the journey to the capital of the former Pasha of Marrakech, located in Talouet Kasbah. Then, take the road of the curves that offers spectacular panoramic views with different colors on the plain of Haouz.

Day 7: Marrakech - Medina Sightseeing Tour

In the morning after breakfast, visit Marrakech city known as the Red City, the fourth largest city in Morocco as well as one of the 4 imperial cities. Moreover, its history is linked to different dynasties that made it their capital and has almost dominated the history of Morocco.
